Over 20 years ago, Paul Ludlow began his retail career as store manager of the Loughgall road store. When the opportunity arose, Paul jumped at the chance to be an owner of the store he previously managed. Paul felt with his experience and familiarity to the store this would be the perfect opportunity to progress.

There have been several changes to the store over the 2 ½ years that Paul & Carol have owned it. Aesthetic changes such as; LED lighting, has progressed to a major relay of the store with new fridges, shelving and a new forecourt adding their store offering.

Introduction of EDGEPoS

August 2015 saw the introduction of EDGEPoS to Ludlow’s store, since then Paul details the massive improvements he’s seen in the system allowing for more efficient store management. From using several EPoS systems over the years Paul believes EDGEPoS is the closest to having all aspects of a great EPoS system. Stating it’s the “best he’s ever been involved with”. Paul understands how keen Henderson Technology are in developing EDGEPoS system and feels that his ideas & opinions are valued.

I find the stock taking has vastly improved, the fact we are able to manage this live is brilliant. It allows for greater stock management as I can take a section at a time and see a live report of the stock we have. This feeds into the ordering, which again, has improved greatly. Ordering is efficient especially with the direct link to HORIS.

Overall it saves me so much time.

The best thing about the system by far is the quality of reports. The detail of the sales reports are far more superior than before. EDGEPoS allows me to manage my store with ease, cutting my work load in half, and shortening the hours I spend in the back office.

“As a retailer, yes you want to review how well your products are doing, but you need to be on the floor, that is how you become a success.” Paul explains; the PC reflects how well you are managing the store, but it is what happens on the shop floor, the people in-between the back office & shop floor that have the real impact.

The efficiency of EDGEPoS system allows me to quickly manage what is going on, saving me hours which allows me to be more involved on the shop floor.

Remote access

Remote access is brilliant. It is by far the biggest improvement I have seen in last 10 years of retail. From the back office to CCTV, this makes life much easier. It is the little things that matter, I can be proactive, as the remote access allows me to do things straight away. I can put items onto the system, and send the labels to the printer from my home. This is a great improvement, saving time at the beginning of shifts.

Henderson Technology

Henderson Technology have been great. Initially I had a few teething issues, learning a new system, I previously had to report everything to a support manager, so when I got EDGEPoS it was strange getting used to everything being at my fingertips. I had rang that many times in the beginning that the support team knew it was me without getting the retailer code, but they were more than helpful each and every time. Nothing ever seemed like an issue. Henderson Technology have been extremely helpful over the years, even with the development requests, they have always listened & valued my opinions. Truly Henderson Technology are brilliant.
